Project staffSupporters of the Tanzania Carnivore  Project include the Darwin Initiative, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and the Zoological Society of London (ZSL).

The Tanzania Carnivore Programme, based at TAWIRI Headquarters in Arusha,  employs three full-time scientific staff and provides both training facilities and a central focus for carnivore research and conservation.

The Tanzania Cheetah Conservation Programme has been carrying out the longest-running in-depth study of a wild cheetah population, and is now establishing a scheme for monitoring cheetah numbers across the country.as well as investigating ways to help cheetahs and humans to co-exist in the larger landscape.
