Peregrine
Peregrine is a big male cheetah, and another one of Carrie’s cubs. He was first seen at the end of 2003 with his sisters Phoenix and Sphinx. Peregrine has been seen scent marking on two occasions, both of which were around Seronera, however we don’t expect that he ever held a territory for very long as he was not consistently seen. When we have seen this large strapping male it has been in the Ndutu area during the wet season, and in the Makoma, Seronera area during the dry season. The last time Peregrine was seen, about one third of his tail had been missing. Chances are he either came in contact with lions or another territorial male cheetah, but one can only speculate.
Peregrine was last seen in August 2009.
