Meet the cheetahs

Madeline

Madeline

Madeline was first seen as a cub with her mum Lady Godiva at the end of 2002.  Madeline has proved to be quite a successful mother. She had her first litter by the beginning of 2006, and raised 3 cubs (Panneforte, Biscotti and Crumpet) all to independence. She then raised her second litter, Aart and Nils, to independence. Unfortunately she was not as successful with her third litter. Madeline was seen with 3 very small cubs along the Ndutu marsh woodlands in March 2008. However none of these cubs have survived, most likely due to the lion population that was in the area at the time. A couple of months later in October 2008 she had another litter. The last time the cubs were seen was in April 2009 when they were about 10 months old, fingers crossed they’re all still around! Madeline can often be seen in the Ndutu area during the wet season, and around the Naabi area during the dry season.

Madeline was last seen in January 2010.
