Tanzania Carnivore Project update
It has been a busy early summer in Arusha.
Rose attended in July the Sabasaba Trade Fair to promote the Carnivore Action Plan as well as to distribute questionnaires.
Margaret has been busy editing the southern African distribution maps of cheetah and wild dogs for strategic draft report, and has continued working on the development of the range wide cheetah and wild dog conservation planning website. Just in July, 85 photographs of 24 cheetahs from 9 sightings for the cheetah watch campaign have been received at the TCP centre, while Laura recorded information from 28 cheetah sightings of 24 different cheetah groups in the Serengeti plains.
Amy and Maurus are entering their final months before submitting their thesis, and are working hard writing up all the results of their projects. When it comes to communication and dissemination of results, a thousand copies of the 4th issue of the project newsletter have been printed this summer and are currently being distributed to all potential stakeholders.
